Be a Guinea Pig - Get a Free SeminarWe need some non-technical people to help us decide on the best web conferencing software to use for upcoming sessions...
For the past couple of years we've been wanting to incorporate more
educational elements into what we do here at NaturalHealthcare.ca -
and we are getting close to rolling out our plan. We've been working
with Gayle Hurmuses of a good mind to create training packages
that are of interest to small business owners - and natural health
practitioners in particular. But first, we have to decide which conferencing platform best suits our needs, and that is where you come in. So, we're holding two web seminars (free): "Marketing on the Internet" and "Social Media for Small Business" on Tuesday September 14, 2010, at 11AM and 1PM respectively. Our initial sessions will use our in-house expertise in case we have difficulties with the technology, so I can solve them on the fly. Gayle and I will co-chair these sessions, because, if you know me, I can be your prototypical cranky geek at times, and she is going to polish my rough edges. If you don't know me, I am Gisela McKay, President and Chief Mastermind of pixcode, creators of NaturalHealthcare.ca, the CanadaEventsCalendar, and Wellergize. It's my job to make sure that the technology does what it is supposed to - and that means creating strategies that work. Is it working? Hmm. Decide for yourself - find NaturalHealthcare.ca in the following Google search results:
Gayle Hurmuses is "The Brains" of a good mind, but has never managed to get a conference coordinator to put that on a badge. Gayle is a marketing specialist with a background in photography, video, and design, who has taught at Centennial, Humber, and George Brown Colleges, as well as researching, preparing, and delivering customized seminars and workshops on a wide range of topics. As an artist, her work has been featured in CBC Midday, the CBC Weekend News, Morningside, and is in the collections of the Robert McLaughlin Gallery and The Art Gallery of Windsor. Now, here's the catch: there are only 48 spots for each of the two sessions. We'd prefer that they go to practitioners (anywhere in Canada), and that you not be greedy and reserve for both. Instead pick which session you want to attend and email me at courses@naturalhealthcare.ca The other catch is you have to commit to telling us what you thought of the experience - how easy/difficult it was to use the tool, was it choppy, how was the audio, etc. (We'll email you a quick feedback report to fill out.) Feel free to pass this along to colleagues if you think they would be interested in learning more about marketing online and being a bit of a guinea pig with the web conferencing platform. Remember, we are looking for people who are less tech-savvy for real feedback on the tools before we commit to one. Thanks! Gisela
