- a medication that is an alcoholic solution of an extract of a vegetable or animal substance or a chemical.

general preparation guidelines
- in a large enough jar, place 4 oz of dried herb to each pint of alcohol (vodka - no more than 30% alcohol), or 8oz of fresh herbs, and close tightly.
- keep the jar in a warm place, and shake twice daily.
- after 14 days, you can strain the liquid through cheesecloth.
- store in a dark air-tight bottle.
