Red Raspberry (Rubus idaeus)
Parts used: leaf, fruit.
Raspberry leaf tea has been used for a long time as a uterine tonic. Pregnant women in particular drink the tea in their last trimester to help ease labour pains. Additionally, the tea (see infusion) has astringent, stimulant, and antispasmodic properties. As a drink it will help treat diarrhea, nausea, and indigestion.
Raspberry leaf tea can be used as a mouthwash, an eyewash (pinkeye or conjunctivitis), and used topically to treat various abrasions, wounds, and ulcers. You can also use the leaves in a poultice.
Because of the levels of ellagic acid, raspberries (the fruit) are good for cancer, both preventing and dealing with existing. While they are not antitumourous, they help your immune system deal with the stresses of the treatments.

WARNING: Excessive ingestion of the fruit may cause diarrhea.
