Best of Canada 2010: the natural health people's choice awards
Everyone prefers to try new products and services based on a recommendation
over an ad. At the same time, people love to be asked to give their opinion on
the products and services they use.
There are many industry-specific natural health awards, but none that are national and ask
the users of these products and services what they think or prefer, and so, we are
filling this gap with the Best of Canada 2010.

From therapists to bloggers to supplements to activists - the categories are many and wide.
We're asking to log in and tell us their favourite natural health practitioners, products, and
personalities.
At the same time, they can browse the nominees to see who others have recommended, in
different categories, and perhaps be introduced to new products, practitioners, and personalities.
Each nomination creates a mini-profile where testimonials and votes accrue. If provided, the profile
includes a link to the nominee's website where visitors can find more information.
During the nomination stage, each category is an amalgamation of all the nominees, where
during the voting period (September 1 - October 1, 2010) practitioners and stores will be
sorted by city or town.
Don't forget to visit the awards section
of the site to see if you have been nominated!
The Therapist Community Network
You've probably been hearing a lot about the importance of building social media
into your business-building strategies. "You need a blog." "You need to be on Twitter."
"You should have a business Facebook page." and so on, and so on.
There are so many social media tools out there - and if you aren't using them right - for instance
posting the same link over and over - you aren't actually going to see any benefits. [ more...]
All the big social media tools for reaching the public - and then
some.
One of the things we have been preaching for years is the Power of Working
Together. There are so many benefits that come with letting go of any scarcity
thinking you may be holding onto and aligning yourself with other practitioners - even of the
same modality. Referrals, cross-promotion & joint marketing promotions, holding events, and
so much more
Think of it this way: two similar restaurants across the street from each
other might be competition. Five restaurants? Well now it's becoming a District.
They aren't just appealing to the neighbourhood; people start coming from further afield
because they know there's choice. It's why you get health care buildings with a variety
of services. One stop shopping.
What if there was one place where people could come to read blog posts from a variety
of practitioners, from a variety of fields? Somewhere where they would be guaranteed
new content every single day, rather than when a particular practitioner got a chance
to post something.
Imagine that at the same time, those practitioners could communicate with each other in areas
that are NOT publicly accessible? How about if you could post to twitter at the SAME time?
That's exactly what
Share.NaturalHealthcare.ca is.
It's free, it's fast, and it's easy. You can start a blog, integrate it with
your twitter and facebook accounts all withing a matter of minutes. Your blog, with your
Twitter account, and your Facebook page - but also feeding into a bigger group blog and
services around the Internet. There's always fresh content for visitors who get to know
your voice and find out who you are to find the right therapist that resonates with them.
