Editor's Notes

Welcome to our inaugural newsletter for the Toronto-specific list! We wanted to do a Toronto-specific mailing because we have a lot of health-related activities and news open to us here in the GTA, and we always feel like we have to leave so much out of the national newsletter.

So, each month we will select a featured business or event and do a short write up on it, followed by a listing of other events in and around the city. If you have suggestions or want to be featured, let us know by emailing 2010suggestions@naturalhealthcare.ca

Feature: The Ultimate Fashion Swap Party!

If you aren't familiar with SwapSity.ca, it's a Toronto-based swapping community for green-minded and budget-conscious Canadians.

Following on the heels of a wildly successful September fashion swap, the Saturday, November 6th exchange promises to be even more fun for eco-fashionistas! This time the event will also feature:

• media personality and image consultant Marilyn Wetston will be giving a short workshop on how to pick your best styles;
• Jane Lee of bellapierre will be doing makeovers for a few lucky participants as well as giving advice on highlighting your best features;
• and, once you are armed with this new advice, the swapping begins!

After the facilitated swap exchange, there will be even more mingling, networking, and private consultation time with both Marilyn and Jane. The event will be held in our Green Instead space at 200 Spadina Avenue at 1:30PM on the 6th.

Tickets for the full afternoon session are only $25 ($30 at the door) - though, you could win your ticket in the SwapSity auction! How does that work? You commit to making a green action of your choice by midnight on Sunday, October 31 and then two lucky winners will be chosen from the bids and they will each receive a free ticket to the party.

So grab your quality pre-loved clothing, necklaces, handbags, scarves, and shoes and plan to mingle, recycle, get pampered, and get glamorous at the ultimate fashion swap party in town! Click here to order tickets online or you can pick up tickets at Green Instead, upstairs at 200 Spadina Avenue.

Just a quick reminder that the Practitioners for Change program continues until November 30, 2010. This month you may find yourself being asked to donate $2, $5 or $10 as you are paying for your natural health treatments. This money goes toward The Holistic Health Research Foundations funds t.o advance natural health care education and research in Canada
